Rainy seasons, the days that bring about the most depression and anxiety to a person. A season that represents death and gloom, a season of fear and constant sadness. It is but this season that brings out some hope to the few people too. Though the atmosphere at the time may seem sad and depressing, if the person can look beyond those reasons alone that a person is nothing but a real human being in itself for being able to find the happiness that is hidden in so much of darkness.
The movie starts with a tanka and ends with the answer to it. Though the movie has no hidden meaning and messages in it, it still amounts to a level in which very few are able to. Everything in the movie is kept to the point and even with that feature of it the movie actually maintains a special area of it for being equally suspenseful and dramatic at the same time. It has the ability to keep the viewer interested in it and at the same time reveal its secrets and intentions little by little. The movie is about a boy who in himself is currently dealing with some family problems and with that he also works part time to earn his own tuition money and expenses. Above all he has a dream that almost everybody in today's world would consider to be absurd and befitting, a dream that is almost too near to achieve according to the basic society but something that really gives the boy his own pleasure and safety. It is but on rainy days that he skips his school's first period and goes on to enjoy the day at the park, it is done so as he feels that "the sky is much more closer to him" that way. A boy with different opinion and quirk of his own that makes him special in a whole different level itself. It is but because of this rainy season that he meets the person he falls in love with. A person too dealing with her own problems and issues, a person who hides almost all of her own secrets and identity. Love a beautiful thing that a person experiences once he or she is near a person that brings him/her warmth, comfort, security, happiness and colors in their grey and dull life.
Coming to the technical aspect of the movie, the graphics and the production of the anime is specially very honed and given respect to as the movie is in a very particular way designed and animated. The animation is really top notch and it is the little details that is really given focus to in the movie that makes it all the more worth while and interesting. The story itself is not too cheesy and beating around the bush and at the same time is suspenseful and interesting. The meaning and the feelings in the movie is clearly depicted throughout the movie which makes the movie all the more worth watching and entertaining.
The movie is absolutely a "MUST WATCH."
