Here we are introduced to a system where humans have created a world in which the holy grail exist. This grail is something that the humans created themselves to wipe out the other humans in the process.
The grail chooses seven humans dynasties who are now linked in the process of the Holy Grail War and their children forward will also take part in this war. The grail gives rise to seven servants who are a heroic spirit for the past, present or the near future. Here these seven mages(humans) can summon and one of these seven servants who will help these mages to fight the mighty Holy Grail War and the winning prize of this war is that the grail offers any wish that the winning side has. According to the legend every servant except one must be eliminated and the one remaining with his master will be declared the winner and thus will have their wish granted. The anime itself is very confusing so the person watching it has to put some of his own mind into it and also may have to watch it several times again and again to understand the story and get the hang of it. [SPOILER ALERT] Here in this world the guy named Emiya Shirou is some who lost his parents when he was young and thus was adopted by a kind young man who saved his life and luckily for his this man happened to be a mage. This father like figure taught him some amount of magic and slowly departed from the world and also left his ideals behind which Emiya later followed on and now wants to become a Hero Of Justice. The anime does not gets twisted until at the very end we find out that the real main character of the anime Tohsaka when summoning a servant, actually summoned the Heroic Spirit Emiya from the near future. The story of this hero is really depressing and thus the ending of the anime is something to look forward to when we are all fired up and in suspense.
This anime does have a really interesting plot and a good story to it but the only catch here is that it uses a method of displaying it material that hardly and anime does. It really is a good anime just with a catch that you have to watch it several time to understand it.
This anime is absolutely a "MUST WATCH."
