Kogarashi Furuzoya, a spirit medium psychic has been since his childhood possessed by different kinds of spirits making him a person to cause a of violence and ruckus. He has always been able to see ghost spirit who stayed back on earth as their some wish had not been fulfilled and it was because of this ability that he was always a prey to the spirits around him. Even-though, the spirits which possessed him only wanted to complete their last wish it actually had one good effect on Kogarashi and one bad. The good was that he was now getting stronger be doing and learning everything that each spirit taught him, and the bad was that his image was now getting spoiled and everyone of his age, younger and elder were afraid of him.
It was only in high school that Kogarashi shifted from his original place and came to the legendary haunted hot spring which everyone was afraid of. It was basically a steal deal to him at first when he realized that the rent was only a 1,000 yen a month and if you included meals that would again mean a separate of 15,000 yen which was basically a steal deal. And the best part of this was probably the fact that he believed that which ever spirit did live on this haunted hot spring residence he would get rid of it be performing exorcism on it and his way of doing it was through a punch. But, all his ideas were shattered when he realized that his Room was 204 and the spirit bound to it was a spirit of a high school girl named Yuuna, and punching a girl was something that he was against totally. This would mean that he now could not perform his exorcism and could not make Yuuna leave his room as she was bound to it eventually making them share the same room and emotions. The other thing of the residence is the fact that there is not only a bound spirit Yuuna to living on it but also, a cat-god apprentice, a demon slaying ninja, a ogre, and powerful landlord and all being females. Will this changing of places be worse for Kogarashi or will it fulfill the life that he always wanted ? That is something you have to figure out for yourself. But what ever it may be, for you it will be a story that turns your way on how you have seen spirits till date.
Coming to the end, the anime does not finish in the first season itself as we still don't see the part of the anime which is shown to us in the starting episode of Yuuna ascending to heaven. This in-turn means that there is a second season to look forward to, and it just may be worth the while after seeing the way its first season turned out. I personally liked the fact that this anime didn't only stayed focused on one point of ascending Yuuna to heaven and neither it got too serious to a point where it would bore the viewer. But saying that there is also a hole in the same spot about what may have Kogarashi done if Yuuna did ascend to heaven, but again that is something for the second season.
This anime is recommended for every "Romantic-Comedy" anime lover.
