24th December, 2029, the 'Lost Christmas' finally took place after a strange meteorite hit Japan and spread a virus deadlier than any other virus ever seen and experienced by mankind till date. It contained genomic resonance and spread throughout a person body like a cancer in crystal form leading them to death eventually. It was at this time that Japan relied on the international powers for food, military, vaccine and help. And it was this virus itself that led to the development of GHQ to take control of the matter and become the biggest and the strongest military in Japan who now chose according to their own will as to who lived and who died.
Shu Ouma, the main protagonist to our story here is a person who has forgotten everything about the past and has sealed it away to not remember that horrible day (Lost Christmas) and the people who were involved in it, making him forget about the existence of his elder sister- Mana, the cause of Lost Christmas, his memories with his father the only scientist who you could say was someone who led the world to Lost Christmas and Triton, the boy that he and Mana once saved. He since that day has been living a life of solitude not making contact with the people outside and not wanting the need to get close to them. But it was his fate the he once stumbled upon Inori, our main female protagonist of the anime that his life was not completely changed. He was now given the power that of a king called Void Genom.
[SPOILER ALERT] This is a power that his father had successfully developed in order to fight the virus that was spreading throughout the world and a power to help those in need. But just as he was able to create more he was killed by his only best friend. What will happen now when Shu finds out that Inori is no one but a tool for his sister's replacement, the next Eve. What will happen when the king's power is too great of a deal and there are people who want to start a war for it ? To find out see the full Season of Guilty Crown.
Honestly for me this was a typical kind of anime as here we only see what happens when a person is certainly bestowed with a high amount of power, a power higher than any other, a power that can make anyone his slave at will. Here we see the way how Shu loses control of over his mind when given a power at once and a rank that he may not be entirely capable of. In my opinion if you do not want a very sad and a bad ending then I suggest you stop watching after 12 Episodes of the anime as the rest (Episode 13-22) are like a entirely different season. But if it is truth you seek and the need to know more about the anime and the whole story behind it then be my guest and watch the full season only to end the anime in a state of misery.
Honestly, you may wonder why it is 'Mystery' that I put at a genre but it is because there are lot of things that are hidden from the person watching it till the very end episode.
This anime is recommend for every "Sci-Fi" anime lover.
