To be precise I wasn't really up for watching SAO after the first time I saw it back at 2016. I wasn't really sure that I would want to watch it again cause back then anime like SAO wasn't really my category and I did get bored of it by the time I reached the 5th Episode. Having said that though I am glad that I changed my mind and tried to give this anime a shot.
Kayaba Akihiko, the creator of the NerveGear has now created by 2022 the game why is now hitting the top chart, Sword Art Online. With only 10,000 copies of the game being available worldwide, our main protagonist, Kirigaya happens to be the lucky or the unlucky one to buy it too. Kirigaya (alias name Kirito) was also a beta tester to the game and having seen its features and its value in Virtual Reality he has now taken up the challenge to also play the game. What awaits next is the message from the Game Master to all the players in Sword Art Online.
The game was actually created to the wishes of Kayaba Akihiko where he always wanted to live in a castle but as his dream never did come true he now inclined to using technology to fulfill his selfish yet amazing dream of making virtual reality the ultimate place to build his own castle, The Cardinal. The 10,000 players who are now playing SAO are now struck inside the game to which the only option is to complete the 100 Levels of the game to again be free from this dreadful place. Sword Art Online is a MMORPG game where the players have to through experience level up their character to build up and save themselves by completing one level at a time. The second part of the anime however, starts when Kirito safely comes back from the Virtual Sword Art Online World, but learns that his love in game and in real life, Asuna is still stuck in the Virtual World but not of SAO but of Alfheim Online, where he once again goes to the Virtual World in the advice of his sister to save his love, but what comes next is the depressing part, where his sister (step-sister) after falling in love with Kirito realizes that, Kirito is actually her own brother. As Kirito and his sister are cousin, Kirito's sister actually falls in love with Kirito once before but after having realized that Kirito doesn't have the same feelings for her she dissolves the love inside of her, only to then again fall in love with Kirito her own brother again for the second time. The anime is really twisted so I guess it would be better if you really saw the second half yourself.
Coming to what I really loved about the anime is the fact that it used love to show the strong part of the main protagonist and not only depended on how Kirito leveled up and beat the game without his feelings for Asuna. The second thing is that it kept the anime realistic by not reviving the characters that had already died in the game and also the fact that the characters now knew each other in the real world after the game had ended. The third thing I loved about the anime is the fact that it didn't really over exaggerate the fact that the main protagonist were too strong and kept the language in the anime simple which I believe is the big fact if you want a anime to be hit.
The anime is absolutely a "MUST WATCH."
