Genre- Comedy, Seinen, Ecchi, Romance, Slice of Life, School, Otaku Culture.
Wakana Gojo always had a dream of becoming a Hina doll artist and practicing throughout his life in hope of perfecting his skills and matching up to his grandfather's expertise, Wakana has never left his home and never socialized or known about the world. Being mocked during his youth for liking dolls and their features, Wakana quickly develops an anti-social personality but, this all changes when fate encounters Marin Kitagawa his way and changes his lifestyle.
Marin has always been a big-time Otaku and thus, develops a thing for cosplaying and changing herself to look like the characters from games, anime, and manga. One thing leads to another and our protagonists' private lives get really entangled with each other and cosplaying. From finding materials, locations, info, and other data that go into cosplaying each character, to getting costumes ready on time for events and photoshoots, this anime has everything in it that revolves around the art of cosplaying. It shows the essence and will of a cosplayer and depicts the lengths that some go for cosplaying as their favorite characters and persona. The anime also involves a subtle romance between the two and that just makes the anime all the more soulful as besides the main plot we also have a side story of the romance between the two, but at the same time, it isn't highly depicted which helps to keep the anime mostly about cosplaying.
Finally, the animation in the anime is really neat and clever, as the studio saves its budget by showcasing average animation in basic scenes and goes all out on scenes that bring life to the anime. The animation team and post-production really does a great job of handling all the intricate details of the costumes, facial features, and other anatomical features of our protagonists. It just helps the anime to ascend to the next level and gives it the boost that it needs being a Slice of Life type anime.
This anime is absolutely a "MUST WATCH."
