If you ever had to watch an anime where you could not help but wish that it gets over soon, my friend, I feel you for the first time. Starting, this anime is one that I would not recommend anyone to watch (you really can find animes better than this in the same genre). With dull side characters, an MC simping over his lost friends, and a downright lousy storyline for something called "Overlord', this anime could not be any more pathetic than it is right now.
Momonga is a person who uses games as a means of escape from reality. But when his favorite game "YGGDRASIL" plans to stop their servers one day, he decides to stay back till the timer hits zero. While waiting for things to be over, he is Isekai-ed into the world of Yggdrasil where he finds himself standing as his character in the game. From here, he must venture into this new world and find a way to somehow connect with the other players that too might have been transported, all the while maintaining his dignity and respect as the last Supreme Being. While this seems like a decent plot in any excellent anime, things cannot be anything but far from the truth. The MC is stuck in a loop of losing his friends and no matter how many episodes pass, you cannot see the end of this sorrow.
From having no special powers of his own and depending solely on the items to not showing the real things he is capable of (like saving others & his supreme magical powers), Ains is probably the only MC on my hate list. With no special power or knowledge backing his "Overlord" status, this anime presents a storyline you cannot help but feel sorry for. From animes like this where you might expect something out of the ordinary from time to time, let me tell you, this anime isn't something that you should look forward to.
This anime is recommended for every "FANTASY' anime lover.
