THE NINTY- SECOND FAILURE

Next up is

"DAILY LIVES OF HIGHSCHOOL BOYS"

Genre- Slice of Life, Comedy, School Life, Shounen, Shojo.

What would an anime look like if it was made on the terms of everyday life and routine? It would be boring as some may expect but will it really be all that we think about it. Will it hold no other greater perspective and story to it than the daily and boring lives that we are accustomed to. Well if you think that then you are a 100% right. As this anime produced by 'SquareEnix' is 'Vertical' is just that, the ordinary and the basic day to day life of ordinary and perverted highschoolers.

The anime starts off with a very anime-type scene of Super Power and Supernatural but those are shattered in a second when we get to know that that special beginning was just a make-belief that is common between the high schoolers in their everyday life. The anime revolves around the lives of our three main protagonists in the anime named Tadakuni, Hidenori, and Yoshitake. These three are the ones who make up the whole plot of the anime and other characters surrounding them become kind of their own main protagonist in the many different episodes as we progress further on. The biggest key factor in making this anime a huge success is the introduction of characters as new characters go on to introduce themselves to the very ending of the anime. Again to make this factor into that of a comedic one the producers have literally put in the special announcement in between the episodes stating that even though new characters keep coming up eve this late in the anime we are not by any means obligated to remember them. This small little detail to the announcement makes the anime even better as this in a clear aspect tells us that we should not dwell on the past and keep progressing with the episodes. The other thing that they did here is the high reduction of the character of Tadakuni in the anime as we see very little of him from Episode 5 and he is nowhere to be seen on Episode 7 and 8. This again turns into a comedy factor as the other two protagonists in the anime state this out in one of the episodes that Tadakuni is almost removed from the anime to which they tell that the producers probably think that he is not capable enough.

Coming to the technical aspects, the animation is nothing too fancy but all the key terms in the anime are present and this anime is actually a binding of small episodes and stories just like that of "Sakamoto Desu Ga." We also see a hint of it as an easter egg in the starting scene where the three friends toss volleyball at each other referencing to "Sakamoto Desu Ga" as this scene is especially common and upfront in that anime. Also, the anime contains a special feature of the daily lives of high school girls at the end of every episode.

This anime is recommended for every "SLICE OF LIFE" anime lover.
