THE SEVENTY- THIRD SPIRIT

Next up is

“DATE A LIVE 2ND SEASON”

Genre- Action, Super Power, Supernatural, Mecha, Sci-Fi, Comedy, Romance, Harem.

Being 10 Episodes short, the second season of “Date A Live” comes with a bang and again being as serious as it may be, it still does not fail to make us laugh and cry at the same time. There are many things which are shown and revealed in this sequel, and also this sequel contains the long-anticipated scene about what would happen if Tokha suddenly someday lost herself as a sealed Spirit and with it her memories of Shido. Not to spoil much, I will obviously not say to you how it went but what I can say is the fact that this season is something that is definitely worth watching if you watched the first season of “Date A Live.”

The question that is really mysterious is if Shido is really human, and it is in this season that we finally see many people ask him that, starting off with Origami who asks Shido if he really is a human at all to which he replies that as much as he believes it to be, he is. What is the real answer to it is something that is not explained in the sequel as it already being as short as it is, it cannot really tell us anything in detail about Shido’s past or any questions that were left unsolved in the first season. However, why would I recommend you to watch this season? It is because of the simple fact that this season is the second formal introduction of many other characters in the anime. The first 4 Episodes being about the ‘Yamai sisters’ and the rest 6 Episodes being about Miku and the DEM Industries who here in the sequel happen to be the main enemy that Shido and all other girls in his Harem face. The story wise progression of the anime is not slow at all and that is something that is really good in the long run as the anime does not waste many episodes in just introducing the characters. Example, from Episodes 6-10, the anime merged the two vital parts of the second season which were Shido to convince Miku and his fight with the DEM, after they successfully manage to capture Tokha. The animation details is but one thing that I am concerned about, as if the team producing the anime had payed a little more detail to the animation techniques and the details that they need to focus on in the fighting scenes, I believe the anime would have just been perfect with not a single area left in which work in needed. But if you ask me what transforms this anime to a ideal anime then that would definitely be the fact that the overall execution of the anime is just perfect, with amazing characters, perfect comedy at the perfect time, and perfect seriousness at the perfect moment not to forget the amazing introduction that the narrator gives us at the start of every Episode.

Being as short as it may be, the anime actually opened up to some pretty good questions, like, Is Shido even human, Who is the first Spirit that appeared and brought about all the chaos and appearance of other Spirits around the world, Who is the women Issac Westcott mentioned in Episode 9 before his fight with Shido truly started, What does Issac Westcott know about Shido and his past and lastly why does Issac Westcott want to destroy the first Spirit that appeared in Earth. Being as vague as it maybe the anime is actually really promising with all the troubles and fun that surround Shido and his lifestyle not to mention the curiosity which surround all these questions which are for one still left to be answered.

This anime is recommended for every “ROMANCE” anime lover.
