Lets just say it straight out that probably the anime was great but it was its ending that made it faulty. Tsuchimikado Harutora, who belongs to the Tsuchimikado family is the only one in the family who was born a failure, a person who couldn't use magic and who was a non spirit-seer. Wanting to continue his everyday boring but normal life he went on and accepted that he indeed was a failure and was someone who was a disgrace. But, this was something that was far from what he was struck on as what he only wanted was but a normal everyday life.
The Great Spiritual Disaster was something that was caused long ago and it was that that bought disgrace to the Tsuchimikado name and family. Yakou, the greatest divine general had used a forbidden magic, called the Taizan Fukun Ritual and it was because of it that many people in it were caught up in and their lives had been destroyed. It was a ritual to revive the dead from the afterlife and it was Yakou's goal to reincarnate himself again to the world, but for what reason is something that is still not revealed. Tsuchimikado Natsume, is our female protagonist in the story and it is her who is believed to be the reincarnation of Yakou and it is because of that sole reason that the Yakou devotees, The Twin Horn Syndicate want to make her remember her past and completely reawaken Yakou. What will happen when our young protagonist enroll to Onmyo Prep School, a school where they teach magic. Will they be the same that the have always been ? Will Harutora's dream to keep on living peacefully with his friends just be a dream or will it come true ? These are something that is for you to find out! The anime itself does not reveal many mysteries and secrets and there are still parts in the anime where the key components are missing to complete the set, like, Yakou's childhood, the ending of the anime, the last Taizan Fukun Ritual, Othomo-sensei's and other teachers past, Master 'D', and lastly what will happen next in the anime.
The production value was great and it was something that really made the anime enjoyable for me at the very least. However it was the ending and the difficult language and names that made the anime hard to understand completely. The other negative aspect about the anime was also the depth in flashback and past stories that weren't made completely clear. There should obviously be a second season to it after such a ending but looking at the reports on the internet and the rumors going on about its less sell and rating it seems hardly possible that there will be a second season.
This anime is recommended for every "MAGIC" anime lover.
