'Mistgun' a floating floating city among other floating cities is where humans now strive to exist after the Earth was destroyed and taken over by the Devil Beetles. Inside 'Mistgun' is a school named 'Sky Wizard Academy' where young generations are trained to fight and drive of Devil Beetles who even now aim to destroy the humans race in skies. This school divides its youth into ranks or rather teams of three and four people called 'Fireteam" in which the highest among all is 'Rank S' and the weakest 'Rank E' .From weakest to strongest it is Rank E, Rank D, Rank C, Rank B, Rank A and finally Rank S. Fireteam E601 is the weakest among all the ranks and this is the team where this story takes place.
Kanata Age, a well known person in Mistgun is famous for his appeal as a traitor. He is known for the fact as to how he survived a fight between Devil Beetles and now never wished to return to front lines to again fight them and about how he betrayed his team during a match who were a Rank A then, and had he participated in it they would have won. Kanata being as smart as he is and as intelligent his plan he still fails on one aspect that is Romance, where he is someone who is as dense as he is intelligent. Fireteam E601 contains of three members who one is a self-conscious and highly self-esteemed student, Rico who believes that she is a reincarnation of a goddess. Another being a shy and nervous but capable vanguard fighter, i.e., Lecty who comes from a noble family and is really good at handling a two type sword style. And last there leader, Misora who is as proud as she can be and is someone who looks up to her mother's footsteps as her mom too was a Sky Wizard who lost her life in a battle. What this team does miss though is the will to participate together as a team and trust one another and it now Kanata duty as this teams new instructor that he has to change their ways of thought and beliefs so that them can finally come together as a team and win at least one whole match as a team and get promoted.
I personally loved the animation and the production rate of the anime as it was neither too excess and neither too less. The basic story, background and plot too come together as one which helps to understand the main purpose of the anime but however, this is a anime with a lot of mysteries which is just demanding for a second season. We still do not know about how the Devil Beetles invaved Earth, about Kanata's past, future of Fireteam E601, Yuri and her relationship with Kanata, Kanata's romantic side and Sky Wizard Life, about Naturals and what will happen if there was a final fight between Devil Beetles and Humanity.
This anime is recommended for "Fantasy" anime lovers.
